Rose, Blanche, and Sophia

In an effort to both serve our readers and help support The A.V. Club, we are going to post daily links to deals and interesting items that we find over on Amazon. If you use these links to click through and buy something—not just the thing you clicked—on Amazon, we will see a portion of that income. You don’t have to do that if you don’t want to, but if you do, know that we appreciate it.

Ratchet & Clank ($19.99, was $40)

We like this game so much we wrote a Staff Pick about it in May. As Games Editor Matt Gerardi noted at the time, “With the power of the PlayStation 4 on its side, this new Ratchet & Clank is stunning. The world and characters are colorful, and the amount of chaos and debris your arsenal generates is supremely cathartic. There are few feelings in gaming more satisfying than annihilating a room full of enemies and watching the hundreds of giant bolts that exploded from their corpses magically fly into your pockets.”

Gears Of War 4 ($59.99, with midnight delivery)

Gears Of War 4 doesn’t come out until tomorrow, but if you’re in a region that offers PrimeNow delivery, you can get the game dropped off at your house tonight around midnight. Amazon is also offering its traditional two-day shipping for Prime members, and if you’re not one already, you can opt for a 30-day free trial that’s so very worth it. Fuck waiting in line at GameStop.

Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me ($3.99 to rent, $12.99 to buy)

A critically beloved but commercially iffy band from Memphis, Tennessee, Big Star is one of power pop’s strongest players. While the band’s records are must-owns, this documentary—released by Magnolia—is also fairly essential, especially for those who are unfamiliar with Big Star’s unusual trajectory.

Funko Pop’s Golden Girls figures ($9.75 each, were $10.99)

Though Funko Pop’s new and much-hyped Golden Girls action figure set is only available on Target’s site, they’re still selling their more traditional vinyl Pop Golden Girls figures over on Amazon. There’s a stern, cross-armed Dorothy, a demure, hose-wearing Rose, Sophia, who’s rocking her big glasses, and Blanche, who looks every bit the scarlet lady. Bake up a mini-cheesecake, and set them up for success in your home.

Exerpeutic 5000 elliptical trainer ($299, was $499)

There’s no excuse for skipping the gym when you’ve got an elliptical in your home. Set it up in front of the TV and get moving.

Death Note – Omega Edition ($29.95 on DVD, $54.80 on Blu-Ray)

Amazon’s video deal of the week is Death Note, which is currently the No. 1 seller in the site’s Anime category. Considering the series is currently being adapted for Netflix, this might be a good time to get ahead of the curve.

8-cup stainless steel French press ($21.99, was $59.99)

It’s all the rage to be a coffee nerd these days. Pick up this deeply discounted French press, which is billed as having an excellent propensity for “hold[-ing the] optimal brewing temperature.” If you want to get even nerdier about your cup of joe, there’s always this pour-over coffee dripper ($14.99, from $59.99), and this one-liter electric pour-over kettle, which, at $38.99, is going for over 60 percent off its retail price.
