There is one Riverdale mystery that continues to confound us, but it doesn’t have anything to do with violent crime, or clandestine love affairs. How big is Riverdale, exactly? Because on one hand, it often functions like a very small town—there’s only one restaurant, one high school (Southside High was shut down), and everyone seems to be in everyone else’s business. On the other hand, Riverdale definitely has some big city features. For one, the socioeconomic disparity among residents is enough that the town is actually geographically divided between low- and high-income earners. Riverdale is also the home to a college, multiple criminal gangs, a public transit system with three bus lines, and a “Five Seasons” hotel, which we assume is a Four Seasons equivalent. So how big is this town? We spoke with the cast and creators of the show to find out.
