Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Monday, March 26. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

The Zen Diaries Of Garry Shandling (HBO, 8 p.m.): Judd Apatow’s docuseries on the life of his comedy mentor, the late Garry Shandling, is an exhaustive deep dive, but one obviously inspired by an abiding admiration. The filmmaker rightfully shows off a comedy nerd’s obsessiveness in this two-part documentary, which boasts plenty of on-camera interviews with Shandling, as well as chats with fellow luminaries James L. Brooks, Jim Carrey, Sarah Silverman, Conan O’Brien, Bob Saget, and Jerry Seinfeld. The Zen Diaries unfolds over two nights on HBO beginning tonight.
