TV Land, aka The Green Acres & Cosby Show Channel, has decided to slip a little original programming smallpox into its warm TV nostalgia blankets.

One of their first original efforts is a reality dating show called The Cougar, and it's like nothing you've ever seen before! (Provided that you've never seen television.)

Hopefully the elimination ceremony is completely wordless: The Cougar will simply mew softly at the men she does like, and roar and hiss at the one she's sending home.

Can cougars (the animals) sue for defamation? Because shows like this one, and SNL, and Courteney Cox's upcoming unfortunate Cougar Town are ruining the reputation those animals have spent decades cultivating. Cougars can break the neck of their prey with one bite—they don't say things like, "I am cougar. Hear me roar!" from inside their cloud of suffocating desperation. Although both cougars (the animals) and cougars (the ladies) do become very docile when in the presence of Vivica A. Fox. She just has that effect on wildlife.

Still, since Cougar Town is basically MILF Island, clearly the satirical shows and movies on 30 Rock are gradually becoming manifest. We're probably only a few months away from the premiere of Death Bank in theaters, and Mystic Pizza: The Musical on Broadway.
