Well, I liked it in Dark Descent, so I’m liking it here too—it might annoy you even more, though, given how much the early game relies on matches (they burn out pretty fast).
Machine for Pigs wasn’t made by Frictional Games, so I think people are mostly just using shorthand--MfP isn’t well-regarded either, which makes it easier to dismiss.
<shrug> I mean, I have had some fun in the past playing co-op games, so “dislike” may be strong--but it is a barrier for entry to me, as it means having to find people I enjoy playing games with who also want to play this game, which is harder than it sounds, at least in my experience.
This sounds almost good enough to get me over my dislike of co-op. Read more
yeah i’m never going to play this. Read more
I liked Olympus, for the most part (but yes, the lack of a larger map is dumb; other games in the series had a map!). And I made it through the next few worlds more or less okay. It just kind of wore me down after a while. (It didn’t help that there’s nothing in the combat that was as fun for me as using the Command… Read more
I can see what you’re saying, but “Prologue” to me implies something that isn’t necessarily part of the main story—the arc of this game felt incredibly important to the story it was trying to tell. I didn’t feel frustrated that I didn’t get the whole narrative at the end, I felt temporarily satisfied and eager for… Read more
Hm. I’m tempted by this, but I think 40 bucks is too big an ask for me right now, especially with some of the problems I’ve heard about it. (The lack of lock on function sounds pretty infuriating.) Maybe when it goes on sale at some point. Read more
If you thought GoW was repetitive, I have some very bad news about KH3. Read more
I can’t speak to the cop, but I assume the construction robot was programmed to keep an eye on Caleb when they were working together (as basic safety “don’t let your human partner fall”), saw him tottering, and followed its programming without having any idea of the context.
Yeah, a remake of 4 would be weird--it still feels relatively modern, even when set alongside the remakes.
Silly mistake, fixed.
Ah, dumb mistake on my part. I’ve removed that line.
Unfortunately no; the move to Amazon Prime kind of killed the model. (Although I may cover them on my own someplace else.)
I dunno, I could be misremembering, but it definitely seemed like more cussin’ to me.
I read the first two novels after watching the show, and I was shocked at how much Holden-worship there was in Leviathan Wakes. It gets substantially better as the series goes on (and I like the books quite a bit; the only reason I haven’t finished out the series is that I was trying to go into the show not knowing… Read more
yeah, you’re right, this is definitely not a world in which Gamer Gate is relevant at all anymore, gooooooood catch.
I use my PS4--the problem is the top of our new TV is too narrow to balance anything on. A friend gave me a clip on camera, but I haven’t set it up yet.
The PS3 remaster is actually the one I’m playing. It’s not ideal (the impression I have is that the fog looks a lot better in the original), but it still plays well enough, and works for someone like me who’s never played the game on the original hardware.
